Advocacy

Bikes on the Drive has made a decision to take the majority of our advertising budget and use it for promoting and helping fund local cycling advocates. Working alongside groups like Better Environmentally Sound Transportation, Vancouver Area Cycling Coalition, Global Agents for Change, Momentum Magazine, Self-Propelled Outdoor Club, Pedal Depot and Our Community Bikes who promote cycling.

Community involvement

Bikes on the Drive is intensely involved with the Commercial Drive and cycling communities. We got our start on “the Drive” over nine years ago. Our staff and customers live and participate in this community.

Our store is involved with Commercial Drive Car Free Day.

We are involved with the Commercial Drive Business Association.

We donate to many community schools and events in both time and prizes.

Our staff can arrange to leave for critical mass on the last Friday of the month.

Bikes on the Drive supports local bike projects and events such as;

P.E.D.A.L. Foundation – Our Community Bikes a non-profit education center and bicycle shop and the Pedal Depot non-retail recycling and education center.

Global Agents for Change – This group rides to Mexico every year to raise awareness and money for micro-credit loans.
